Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Cambodia’s construction sector is increasingly embracing digital technologies, energy-efficient systems, and modern engineering solutions as infrastructure and urban development continue to expand. Against this backdrop, CAMBUILD 2026 brought together construction, engineering, M&E, energy, and mobility stakeholders from September 28–30 at the Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Centre in Phnom Penh. The 15th edition featured more than 180 exhibitors and was expected to attract over 10,000 trade visitors.
Organized by Informa Markets, the exhibition provided a platform for companies to showcase technologies spanning building materials, mechanical and electrical systems, energy solutions, construction equipment, and smart technologies. Its integrated format connected conventional construction products with newer digital and energy technologies, reflecting the growing convergence across the built environment.
Smart building technologies formed an important part of the exhibition as construction companies and building owners increasingly seek systems that can improve efficiency, safety, and operational performance. Solutions covering lighting, HVAC, automation, and connected building systems can help organizations manage energy consumption while creating more responsive built environments.
Renewable energy and energy storage also featured prominently. Technical sessions examined PV and energy-storage integration, highlighting the growing importance of combining renewable generation with storage and intelligent energy-management capabilities. Such systems can support more flexible energy use while helping commercial and industrial facilities respond to changing electricity requirements.
Cybersecurity provided another technology dimension. As construction projects and buildings incorporate connected systems, digital controls, and networked infrastructure, protecting these environments is becoming increasingly important. CAMBUILD's technical program included a dedicated cybersecurity session, reflecting the expanding relationship between digital construction and infrastructure security.
Water and resource management were also addressed through technical presentations on chemical treatment and filtration systems. Efficient water infrastructure is particularly relevant to rapidly developing urban environments, where construction growth needs to be supported by reliable utility systems and responsible resource management.
The exhibition additionally incorporated new-energy mobility technologies, connecting the construction and infrastructure ecosystem with developments in electric and alternative-energy vehicles. Participating brands included BYD, KIA, AVATR, YUTONG, HIGER, XCMG, SKYWORTH, and others, demonstrating the expanding relationship between mobility, energy infrastructure, and urban development.
Technical knowledge-sharing was a central component of CAMBUILD 2026. The event's symposium covered engineering education, professional development, cybersecurity, energy systems, water treatment, transportation, pump management, and new-energy vehicle technologies. Buyer networking and guided VVIP tours provided additional opportunities for industry participants to examine solutions and engage directly with suppliers.
International participation further strengthened the event's role as a regional technology platform. Exhibitors and showcases from China, Vietnam, Singapore, India, and other markets provided local construction and infrastructure professionals with access to international products and technical expertise.
The event's focus on smart and green innovation reflects broader changes in Cambodia's construction market. CAMBUILD identifies growing demand for smart technologies, eco-friendly materials, and energy-efficient systems, while its exhibition scope spans concrete, steel, pipes, glass, solar, lighting, HVAC, automation, safety, and security solutions.
As Cambodia continues to develop its built environment, the integration of construction technologies with renewable energy, automation, cybersecurity, water systems, and smart mobility will become increasingly important. CAMBUILD 2026 provided a platform for industry stakeholders to examine these technologies, exchange technical knowledge, and identify solutions supporting more efficient and future-ready construction projects.
Construction Business Review highlights technologies transforming construction, engineering, infrastructure, and the built environment. Through coverage of CAMBUILD 2026, the publication examines how smart construction systems, renewable energy, digital technologies, M&E solutions, and advanced infrastructure are contributing to Cambodia’s evolving built environment.
