Liberty Pumps
Engineering Pump Solutions for Lasting Performance

Liberty Pumps

Randy Waldron, Liberty Pumps | Construction Business Review | Pumping Product Company Of The YearRandy Waldron, VP of Sales and Marketing
When you are installing a Liberty Pump, you are investing in a solution engineered to tackle real-world challenges of groundwater and wastewater. Whether protecting basements from floodwaters or handling tough wastewater scenarios, Liberty Pumps’ range of sump, sewage, effluent and grinder pumps is built with one goal in mind-dependable performance where it matters most.

What powers this reliability is more than just great design. At Liberty Pumps, pump technology is a deliberate choice driven by a large team of creative engineers utilizing customer input to drive new designs.

This exceptional talent has earned the company over 25 U.S. patents, representing a broad range of innovative breakthroughs in design, performance and durability. It proves that staying ahead of industry trends is no accident but a core part of its strategy.

“Each pump isn’t just a product for us-it’s a reflection of the collective effort our team brings to putting out the best product possible,” says Randy Waldron, VP of sales and marketing. “By actively engaging our customers in the process, we keep our innovations grounded in practicality and ensure we deliver solutions that truly make a difference in their specific pump application.”

Such a collaborative-innovative mindset is also powered by its employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) company structure. Every team member is an owner of the company and has a personal stake in the outcome of their work, which creates a culture of pride and accountability that drives the quality of each pump.

With every pump, the company doesn’t just deliver a product; it delivers a solution from a team that’s always invested in exceeding customer expectations.

Carrying the Pride of American Manufacturing

Like many leading U.S. manufacturers, Liberty Pumps has re-shored a large percentage of its component sourcing to U.S. companies. This helps many of its products meet current initiatives like the Build America, Buy American (BABA) Act. Currently, over 90 percent of Liberty’s products are assembled in Bergen, New York, with a large percentage of component sourcing coming from the U.S. While some international sources are still required for certain parts, the focus has been on supporting American companies first whenever possible.

From Clogs to Clear Flow

As cities and towns struggle with aging wastewater and sewage infrastructure, the need to update is more pressing than ever. Many municipalities are shifting from outdated systems to more efficient low-pressure sewer networks and centralized sewage treatment.

But with this transition comes a challenge of how to handle non-flushable items like cleaning wipes wreaking havoc on these systems, causing clogs, breakdowns and expensive repairs-especially when it comes to the pumps.

Liberty Pumps’ solutions are built for today’s realities. Its Omnivore® grinder pump systems, for example, are designed to handle the toughest sewage waste, working much like an industrial-strength garbage disposal but designed for debris and difficult solids now found in the sewage waste stream.

At the heart of this innovation is a patented V-Slice® cutter design that grinds tough solids into a fine slurry, allowing waste to pass smoothly through sewer systems. This means no more clogged pumps-just reliable performance that keeps things flowing.

By eliminating these blockages and cutting down on costly repairs, this innovation is also helping municipalities keep their operating costs down and their sewage systems running smoothly. It’s a win-win for all.

Green by Design

Environmental sustainability isn’t an afterthought for Liberty Pumps. Their product development team purposely strives for the most efficient methods of moving fluid, proving that eco-friendly innovation is possible even in an industrial setting.

Designing pumps that perform at peak efficiency with lower amperage draw, allows them to deliver top-tier performance while consuming less electrical power. Focusing on energy efficiency not only reduces environmental impact but translates into long-term cost savings for its customers.

Each pump isn’t just a product for us-it’s a reflection of the collective effort our team brings to putting out the best product possible

Beyond the design innovation, packaging choices also reflect the same dedication to sustainability. By phasing out Styrofoam packaging inserts in favor of biodegradable materials for several of its products, Liberty Pumps ensures it is reducing its environmental footprint from the moment they’re produced to when they’re disposed of.

A Recipe for Rapid Success

Whether simplifying installations, overcoming unique obstacles or refining product features, the engineering and sales teams’ extensive field experience ensures Liberty Pumps’ solutions are shaped by the people who use them every day.

This customer-first mindset extends to their personalized customer service approach as well. While many companies have turned to automated answering systems, Liberty Pumps has deliberately chosen to keep things personal. When customers call for help with pump sizing, installation advice or post-installation support-they’re connected with a real person who quickly directs them to the right expert for tailored assistance. The Liberty technical support team is well known for its quick response and expertise in solving customers problems.

It’s a small gesture, but the hands-on approach makes customers feel valued and supported at every step.
Building a Future-Ready Workforce

The leadership team has made it a priority to foster a workplace culture that celebrates its employees and ensures they are empowered to grow, both professionally and personally.

Liberty Pumps actively invests in its team’s long-term growth, providing employees with the resources to expand their expertise and even pursue further education in their fields of interest. Whether enhancing technical skills or earning advanced certifications, Liberty Pumps offers the support needed for its employees to succeed.

The culture of continuous learning, in return, creates an empowered workforce that brings fresh ideas to the table-driving innovation, improving processes and taking Liberty Pumps to new heights.

“We’re confident that with our customer-first approach and commitment to product innovation, we will continue shaping the future of reliable, field-proven pumping solutions,” says Waldron.
